Andy got all romantic recently and took me out for a surprise champagne lunch at the Cinema Supper Club in Liverpool Hilton’s Exchange Restaurant. Combining film and food, this place was right up our street.
Up until this point, I’d only ever stepped foot in the hotel’s snazzy Pima Bar so this was a first-time visit to the restaurant. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon and while we stuffed our faces with the delicious three-course meal, washed down with a lovely glass of champers, the few other parties appeared to be sipping tea and devouring stacks of tasty-looking cakes and sandwiches for afternoon tea (definitely something we need to try next time!).
Vintage film posters adorned the walls and there was a large screen playing a black and white movie in the background. I loved the pink-hued candlelight provided on each of the tables; an ultra-chic and cosy finishing touch.
What did we eat? I went with the bruschetta, risotto and fresh fruit platter, while Andy had a selection of cured meats, sea bass and chocolate fondant. It was yummy!
