Inspirational Quotes for the New Year

I was going to write a long-winded post about how my year has gone, but I’m going to keep this post short. While 2012 was one of the best years of my life, due to my travels in Canada, 2013 has been no match and the latter part was a particularly dark period.

I’ve reassessed what I want from life and decided that, rather than ending up in another thwarting work environment, I’m going to take the plunge and go freelance. I’m setting up a travel and lifestyle copywriting business called Bespoke Copywriting and can’t wait to be my own boss and take full control of my career direction.

When I’m lacking motivation or feeling low, I always read positive quotes to give me a lift. If you’re looking for inspiration for 2014, here are some wise words placed on my Caribbean travel photos. Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year. May all of your dreams comes true!

Thanks, I’m sure it’ll be better not going to make the same mistake of trying to be something I’m not (office bod). I hope your year is fabulous :-)

Thank you, that’s probably my favourite quote of the lot! Cheers for following along, it means a lot. Hopefully can go for another coffee one day when return to BC! Have a fab year :-)

Hope 2014 is a good one for you – and best of luck with the freelancing. I’ve been at it for almost 3 years now and although it can be stressful and exhausting it’s a great feeling building up a business for yourself. Hope it all goes well.

Thanks for your words of encouragement, they mean a lot from somebody whose already freelancing and doing well! Gives me hope :-) I’m going to give it my best shot. I’ll take the stress and exhaustion if it means being my own boss and being able to have a more flexible approach to work. I like hard work, I’m just sick of the BS that comes with overly-political corporate environments. Eats away at my soul lol. I hope 2014 is a great year for you :-)

Thank you, that’s a quote that’s hard to live by for a lot of people as everybody wants to fit in and be accepted, but sometimes it’s better to go ‘erm, hang on a minute’ and point out something that’s wrong even if it makes you unpopular!
