Edinburgh is brimming with haunting architecture and spine-chilling side streets. Not to mention it has one of creepiest cemeteries imaginable. A walk around Greyfriars Cemetery, in broad daylight I might add, terrified the life out of me.

As it is Halloween, I thought it was about time to share some of the spookiest shots I got in Edinburgh. For added effect, I’ve made them black and white.

    • It was like being in some horror film. Couldn’t have been more scary. Well, a ghost could have jumped out (thankfully not!)

  3. Amazing pictures! Everything looks so cool (and yes, creepy!)

  4. I’ve always pictured Edinburgh as kind of dark and spooky and I’d love to go there, I might add. Love the pics. Very spooky, indeed.

  6. Gothic architecture just seems to lend a creepy atmosphere. I love the spiky swooping lines, but the little details kind of peer out and make things even more creepy. I was only in Edinburgh in the winter, but I imagine that summer is less creepy than winter.

  7. Edinburgh is gorgeous in daylight and in colour. Rich, Gothic and full of history. But these photos in black and white change the mood completely. We were there last May and recognize many of these locations. Great shots and certainly spooky!
