It was my last day in Banff National Park when I finally got to Lake Minnewanka. The setting felt dramatically different compared with many of the other turquoise lakes I had visited whilst hiking in the Canadian Rockies.
Instead of being bright and colourful, the scene was beautifully hazy and serene from the early morning light. I loved how the sun rays shone over the mountains and onto the water, making it a shimmering silver colour.

A stunning photo!
Thanks Darlene, I think the way the sun was shining down made this picture so much better! A few hours later and it was a completely different setting.
Love the photo! Wow!
Thanks Holly, it’s one of my favourite shots where the conditions made for great photo ops.
Wow. So beautiful.
