I Do Like To Be Beside The Sea

Visiting different landscapes – from bustling cosmopolitan cities to desolate deserts – is part of what makes travel so interesting. But, for me, nothing beats being near to the sea.

The sights, sounds and smells really help to revive the spirit and the sea air does wonders for clearing your lungs.

It is even better when there are crashing waves and rugged cliffs in the picture.

Here are some of my favourite photographs of sea views captured on my travels…

Kahuna Beach, Newquay, Cornwall

A more relaxed sea view near Protaras, Cyprus

Kite surfing at Castletown Beach, Isle of Man

Waves crashing against the shore in Langness, Isle of Man

A peaceful sunset setting at Port Erin, Isle of Man

Another gorgeous sea view of the coastline in Newquay, Cornwall

Niarbyl Bay, Isle of Man

Somebody reflecting near Protaras, Cyprus

Do you like being beside the sea?

Yes I do! I miss the ocean terribly living here in the prairie provinces! I grew up in Newfoundland. I hope you get to visit there on your trip to Canada. I think a lot like Ireland in comparison I’ve heard, never been though. If you have any questions about Canada during your trip feel free to ask:)

Hi Abby, I hope I get there too! I’ll be sure to seek your advice if I’m lucky enough to make it there :-) I’ve always wanted to visit Northern Ireland, which is supposed to have a gorgeous coast. Only ever made it to Dublin.

I love being by the sea! It’s truly one of the greatest feelings. The shot of Niarbyl Bay is my favorite. The green and blue colors contrast well together.

Hi Claire, Isn’t Niarbyl lovely? I was in awe when visiting this place as it’s almost too perfect. There’s a little cafe/restaurant here as well serving fresh seafood.

I’m obsessed with oceans and seas! I think sitting on a beach and taking in the beauty is my personal form of meditation :) Your photos make me imagine sand between my toes and the smell of salt water–gorgeous!

Hi Andrea, your words are making me want to get to the sea right now! Love the smell of salt water and sand between my toes – great exfoliation as well, haha :-)
