Cupcakes And Tea Cosies In Manchester’s Suburbs

The Manchester suburb of East Didsbury has lots of independent shops, plenty of pubs and an abundance of cool cafes.  Along the main street, Burton Road, is a quirky tea room called  ‘And the Dish Ran Away With The Spoon’.

The outside immediately caught my eye as we walked  by. It has a bright white facade, with rustic wooden seats and bright blue tables. The window display features an eclectic mix of teapots along with jars full of sweets.

This quaint display made me want to go inside and see what tasty treats were on offer.  I knew immediately that a binge was imminent.

In front of me were sweet swirls of creamy delights that looked too good to eat. Cupcakes. Colourful, delicious-looking cupcakes.

I went with this green baby and washed it down with some Sicilian lemonade. The cupcake was so good, I went straight back in for another one…

My sister’s boyfriend ordered some tea and it was served in a teapot, complete with a pink tea cosy…

Are you a fan of cupcakes? Would you like your tea served in a teapot with a pink tea cosy?

OMG How adorable. I love the name of the tea shop! And the cup cakes are amazing, my mouth is watering. I understand how 1 would not be enough. Yes, I enjoy my tea in a proper tea pot with a nice cozy. I want to go there so badly. I may need to put this shop in a scene in my book. Thanks XO

Ha ha, the cupcake looks good doesn’t it! I could have had several :-) That’s great you want to include this shop in your book. Is this set in England?

It was very inviting. I’d love to return there again when I visit my sister next. She luckily lives right around the corner from it!
