Horncastle is a historic market town in the rural county of Lincolnshire, England. I am a city girl at heart, but I also enjoy the small rustic details that can be found in countryside spots like this. Here are some of my favourite scenes captured on a recent walk around the town…
I really like the whole feel of this scene. That red door, the foliage and the ducks peacefully passing along make for a perfect country setting.
Rustic looking signs such as this one always catch my eye.
Only in the countryside would you have a sign like this!
Horncastle is famous for its numerous antique shops and second-hand bookstores. I love the way a tractor passed by just as I took this photo.
One of the town’s ‘quackers’ residents.
Another sign that always catches my attention. It leads to the Trinity Antiques Centre, a converted church, which can be seen in the background. This is a great spot to make some quirky vintage finds.
Have you ever visited Horncastle in Lincolnshire? Do you like rustic country scenes like this?

What a cute little village. I love signs while traveling. These are some great ones. I can just imagine someone going in and buying a few firewood logs and just picking up a ferret as an impulse buy.
