The Garden Back Home: ‘Purrrrfect’ Getaway

There is no doubt that travelling to amazing locations across the world is inspiring. But sometimes taking a trip ‘back home’ can be just what the doctor ordered. When I visit my family back in Liverpool, especially during the summer, I have learnt to truly appreciate something I took for granted before – the garden.

My parents’ garden is a true peaceful haven. Living in Lincoln these past five years, I have not had a garden. And I really do miss it. Nothing beats chilling outside on the patio with a nice glass of wine on a warm summer’s night, looking up at the star-lit sky.

I remember those long summer holidays as a teenager, wasting the hours away in that garden, looking up at the blue sky watching the planes fly by, no doubt to all kinds of exotic destinations.

Another aspect that makes this garden such a special place is a couple of cuties that have a tendency to hang around – my family’s cats Holly and Roxy. Just for the mere sake of it, here are some pictures of them (for all those cat lovers out there: enjoy. For those who would rather read about far off destinations than look at cute piccies: apologies.)

Roxy – the mischievous one.

Holly who was born on Christmas Day.

Love the cats, Roxy and Holly. There is nothing like a peaceful English garden. For me that is a far off, exotic place!

They’re adorable aren’t they! I wish I had better pictures of the actual garden as well – it really is lovely.

Wow, Roxy has wonderful eyes!!! So cute !!! Why do you call Holly “the Christmas kitty” ? If you see some english mistakes… sorry, I’m italian :P !

Your English is perfect! Holly was born around Christmas day. She’s so beautiful and is 15-years-old, ancient for a cat. Maybe she’s been having cat botox!
